The Beauty of Solo Travel

Solo traveling has become one of my favorite things to do since 2010. Growing up, we always travelled, and I was used to road trips and summers at the beach. I first started my solo travel journey in 2010 after I graduated from college. I’m a late bloomer so I was in my 30’s, just graduating after ending a relationship and buying a house. I worked hard and decided I wanted a vacation to the Essence Festival in New Orleans followed by a beach trip to Florida. After that 10 day vacation, the solo travel but bit me.

The Beauty of Solo Travel

One of the best things about solo travel is being able to set my own schedule and itinerary. I am a relaxed traveler, so if I’m going to a beach resort, I’m spending most of my time at the beach, in the water on island time. So if you’re someone that likes early morning excursions, you can enjoy that without worrying if your travel mates will enjoy it as well. The most important thing I learned through solo traveling, is learning myself and being comfortable in my own company. Solo travel opens up my explorer side and finding out how people outside of my circle live. Travel enriches your life in so many ways and for me, the beauty of solo travel is the enrichment and freedom that comes with it.
