Looking good on a daily basis often takes more effort than we have to give. If anyone understands this, I certainly do. Understanding that most people want to look pulled together but don’t want to spend hours or tons of money doing it is a no brainer. Luckily, looking “put together” can be achieved in a little time with things you already have in your makeup bag. At the request of a follower, I’m giving some easy tips to look refreshed and put together using very little makeup and taking little to no time.

Fill In Your Brows

Your eyebrows frame your face and can make and can take your look from snoozed to snatched in a minute. Filing in your brows adds definition and will balance out your features. Try the precision brow pencil from E.L.F for just $6 or a pencil from your local beauty supply store. One of my new personal favorites is a pencil and gel from a Black Woman owned brand, PlentyFull Brows. You can shop their brow products here: https://www.plentyfullbrows.com/

Mascara and Concealer

Concealer is the most wonderful thing to add to your makeup routine. A dab of under eye concealer brightens up and conceals any dark circles. For the under eye, choose a shade that is at least a half shade lighter than your complexion. Use a concealer that is your skin tone to cover any blemishes or acne marks. A little goes a long way with most concealers so I use one like the Maybelline Age Rewind for under eye. For my touch-ups, I prefer the ELF Camo Concealer or the Colourpop No Filer concealer. Both retail for about 6 bucks each. Mascara can help you look awake and give a boldness and finished look to your eyes. Use a mascara that lengthens and adds volume such as the L’Oreal Voluminous. One coat of this mascara will have your natural lashes popping! Shop the concealer and mascara here: https://shopstyle.it/l/bqoLY

Add Some Lip Color

This may seem a little silly since we’re wearing masks the majority of the time but hear me out. Nothing lifts my mood more than my favorite red lipstick or gloss. A touch of gloss or a little lip paint will elevate not only your mood but your look as well. It doesn’t have to be red or even a bright color, a nude or brown or even a clear gloss will do just fine. Lip colors are a nice way to express your mood and can instantly transform even the most minimalist of looks.

These are just a few of my quick tips that I do when I have an errand or am on my 5th zoom call for the day. Looking put together brightens my mood and when I’m dressed and feeling good, I get a lot more done. I’ve talked about why getting dressed has been a priority for me during the pandemic. 1. […] Long gone are the days of the over done, harsh brow. The infamous “youtube brow” with the block shape, extra heavy carved out concealer and brows that meet in the middle of your face are over. Natural glam, including your brows are what’s hot in these beauty streets for spring. Hallelujah!! As a person who loves a good soft brow and enhancing the natural brow, this news is refreshing. I look forward to seeing more of this with your makeup looks this spring. Using a brow pencil or pomade to simply enhance and fill in your natural brow adds a touch of class and precision to a look.
