I’m currently on a self imposed “No buy November”. I promised myself I wouldn’t purchase any makeup for the entire month because my vanity is literally running over. This has given me time to take inventory of the many products that I already have so that I won’t buy duplicates of the same things (again). It was hard to narrow down my top 5 makeup must haves, but I did my best.

A Twitter account I follow TheBlendGames (@theblendgames) asked the following question: “What makeup product can you not live without?” The answers varied of course, from brows, to blush, to lashes. I answered with my favorites, blush and lip gloss. But it got me to thinking about the other products that I cannot do without, the same few items I reach for with just about every makeup application. I wanted to list my top 5 makeup must have’s and since Black Friday is coming up, perhaps you’ll find something on my list that you’ll want to purchase for yourself 🙂

First up is my favorite concealer EVER. The ELF Hydrating Camo Concealer is a full coverage, hydrating concealer and has quickly replaced any other concealers I’ve ever used. A little goes a long way, the shade match for both under my eyes and spot treatments are perfect and most of all, it is extremely affordable. This concealer retails for a whopping $6.00.

Next up is the best setting powder (in my opinion) ever. Lots of girls have tried but they can’t come close to the Laura Mercier Ultra Blurring Translucent Powder This powder sets my makeup like no other and it doesn’t leave me feeling cakey, oily or give me any creasing under the eyes. This powder only came in one color for years but recently the brand added the shades honey and medium tan. Laura Mercier is sold at both Sephora and Ulta, sephora will have the complete collection.

Let’s get to my favorite eyeshadow. If you’ve watched any of my videos or seen any of my IG posts, you know I love Anastsia Beverly Hills Mini Glam Palette. It’s an 8 pan palette that has varying neutral shades made for every day looks or a nighttime smokey eye. If you’re into the simplicity of eyeshadow sticks, the Milani Gilded Eyeshadows are an affordable option. These come in many shades and are easy to apply with long lasting pigment.

I never skip blush in my makeup application. I have tons of it, once I learned to properly use it, blush became a staple. My go-to blush is the ELF Camo Liquid Blush My favorite shade is Bronze Bombshell which is a copper hued blush, with a nice orange undertone. it is a perfect shade for brown girls (all brown girls should have an orange or copper blush in their stash, FYI). The blush is extremely pigmented so a little goes a long way. Another option is the Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Divine Blush– in the shade Desert Orchid, a beautiful muted peach.

Lastly, my lip gloss is poppin, my lip gloss is cool…I never leave home without some kind of gloss. I wear a matte lip and put a pop of gloss on top, Though I have many favorites, I’m going to list Fenty Gloss Bomb as my bae. I’ve gone through at least three tubes of this gloss since it dropped. For me, it’s the perfect mix of pink and shimmer. It looks great on it’s own, with a lip liner or over your favorite lipstick. Lipstick girlies, I have something for you too. The Lip Bar Matte Lipsticks are some of the best liquid lipsticks you can buy. There is a shade for every skintone, check them out at Target.

Though I have tons and tons of makeup, these products never leave my side. All of the products mentioned are brown girl friendly as well.

What’s your makeup products that you can’t go without?
