This year, I vowed to use the products that I already have before buying more. I recently did an end of the year purge of my beauty products and kept only what I needed, what I hadn’t used yet etc. What I discovered was I had some pretty amazing skincare products, and a lot of them costs less than 25 dollars.
You guys know I’m all about saving a coin, and I’m trying not to over consume and buy more than what I need right now. Skincare is something that I keep a budget for but still, a lot of really good products don’t have to cost a lot of money. As far as the items in this post, I’ve used them all and will continue to use them because my skin loves them. Peep the shelfie that I used as the introduction photo, that’s all mine. Let’s get into the roundup and see if you spot any of your affordable skincare favorites below.
Affordable Cleansers
If you’ve read my previous posts on affordable facial cleansers, you know my theory that they do not have to cost a lot. In fact, I prefer them to be the least expensive product in my routine. Cleanser serve the purpose of removing dirt, excess oil and makeup but then you rinse them down the drain. So my goal is to find an effective, yet affordable cleanser. The Inkey List Cleansing Balm is just that. I love this cleanser in the evening after I’ve taken off my makeup. I use it after I do an oil cleanse with DHC Cleansing Oil. Affordable Serums
Personally, serums and essences are my favorite part of my skincare routine. At night, I use my retinol serums like the Acure Beauty Retinoid Night Serum which softens my skin and helps reduce the look of fine lines while managing oil in my pores. This serum is only $19.99 and quite possibly one of the best skincare purchases I’ve made in a while. Serums are where the magic happens with your routine. Depending on the type, you get hydration, exfoliating properties and brightening properties that will rejuvenate your complexion. The Good Molecules Daily Brightening Serum is another great serum that hydrates and brightens and can be used every day.
Affordable Moisturizers
Hydration is key when it comes to skincare and like my serums, I invest the most in these. From facial oil to day time moisturizers, my skin care routine is not complete without a good moisturizer. One of the favorites in my collection is a mini size from Glow Recipe Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow AHA Moisturizer, it’s a night moisturizer but I use it in the daytime. It’s lightweight (it does have a scent of watermelon) but super hydrating on my dry skin. With glycolic acid as one of it’s main ingredients, expect a glowing complexion. For daily moisture, I use a drugstore product that I’ve loved for a while. It’s the E.L.F. Holy Hydration Daily Moisturizer With SPF 30. It’s a simple, yet hydrating moisturizer that has the added protection of SPF.
In conclusion, your skincare is personal and there are so many products that work really well without hurting the pockets. I’m always here for suggestions for new and affordable skincare that I should try. I’m also here for any questions on products that you want to try or that you’ve heard about.
