Concealer is the one makeup product I refuse to live without. It’s such a multi-use product that color corrects, covers dark spots and brightens the under eye. Now that I’m in my 40’s, my skin is maturing a bit so my makeup needs have to adjust. Part of that adjustment was finding the right concealers for my mature skin.

I use concealer specifically for my under eye where I have a few fine lines and hereditary dark circles. Since my skin is dry, I tend to go for a hydrating concealer that is still full coverage. Some of my favorites like the Tower 28 Swipe All Over Concealer go on like a skin serum while still giving coverage and brightness. Also, the Lancome Teint Idole All Over Concealer is one of the best concealers for mature skin because of the coverage and wearability. It gives a “your skin but better” finish and it will cover dark circles and blemishes with a little bit of product.
When choosing a concealer, keep in mind what you’re looking to accomplish with your makeup look. For me, I use concealer more than I use foundation so I like to use a medium to full coverage concealer. I choose a shade 1 to 1/2 shades lighter than my skintone for my under eye, as I like to have a brighter under eye. For touchups, I use a concealer closest to my skintone. Here are some of my go to concealers
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Magic Touch Concealer– This concealer is lightweight formula that blurs imperfections and gives a second skin-like finish. It comes in 21 flexible shades
- Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer– This is an ideal concealer for those of us with mature skin. It works wonderfully under the eye and gives a natural, soft matte finish without looking cakey.
- Bobbi Brown Skin Full Coverage Concealer The most long wearing concealer in my collection, this is also full coverage but doesn’t feel like it. This works great on covering my dark under eye as well as any hyperpigmentation or acne scars.
- Haus Labs Triclone Concealer– This is my “I woke up like this” concealer. It’s medium coverage and looks like my skin, but better. Wearing this, you could never tell that I’ve had a bad nights rest. It’s formulated with skincare ingredients and caffeine which is great for de-puffing any bags under your eyes.
