Range Beauty: Clean Beauty Made For Black Women

Welcome back to Makeup Monday where I’m featuring a new (to me) Black woman owned makeup brand.

I came across Range Beauty via a Twitter thread highlighting some Black and POC owned beauty brands to try. Range Beauty is a clean beauty brand made with Black women in mind. Black women are often left out of the clean beauty space especially when it comes to foundation shades (Shocker!). Thankfully brands like Range have come along and given us an all inclusive line for our melanin. Not only are the products clean, but they are great for those with sensitive skin.

Range Beauty was started by the founder, Alicia Scott who started her journey in the fashion industry. Like many women who have melanin in their skin, finding her correct shade of makeup was a struggle. When Alicia did find her makeup, it irritated her skin due to the ingredients in the cosmetics. So, she built her own brand that was inclusive for dark skin and one that was good and nourishing for the skin. As you know, I have adult acne flare-ups and hyper-pigmentation, so finding makeup that is good for me is a win! All of the products offered in the collection are cruelty free, vegan and do not contain any fragrance, paraben or talc. Let’s get into the products that Range Beauty offers.

True Intentions Bronzing Primer – Range Beauty is magic in a bottle. I immediately started using this the moment I opened the package because I was intrigued by a primer that would give me the sun kissed glow. This primer is ideal for your no-makeup makeup days because the formula gives a nice healthy glow and smooths any fine lines. The shade is universal and goes on clear, and the primer has a light texture. This retails for $18

Best Powder And Liquid foundation For Black Women– This hydrating foundation comes in 21 shades and is a light to medium formula. This is hydrating, so it gives a your skin but better finish that I love! You can purchase foundation samples for $2 each and this will allow you to find your perfect shade. By now, you know I like to try before I buy so I got 3 samples. The shades Baked, Dune and Liquid Sand were the ones I tried with Baked coming out as the winner.

Smooth Out – Golden Light – Range Beauty– Set it and forget it with this translucent powder from Range Beauty. The smooth out powder wore so well, I forgot that I had on makeup after a while. It’s such a soft, fine powder that leaves no patchy streaks or white cast. I got the shade Golden Light as I like a setting powder that is close to my skin tone. This powder did not disappoint and comes in 4 different shades for $16

Bali Full Body Glow – Range Beauty– Get your glow on with this lovely body glow oil. It so light and melts into your skin while giving you just enough of a shimmer to show off. Argan oil is the main ingredient which we know is a healthy and hydrating oil that is great for the skin. I used a few drops on my shoulders and décolletage for sexy, sun kissed glow. One or two drops is all you need as a little goes a long way. This retails for $16.

Golden Hour – No Shade – Range Beauty– An eyeshadow and highlighter all in one. This is the one product I didn’t purchase to review (no worries, I’ve since added it to my cart). But you can use these as a highlighter or eyeshadow depending on your mood. These come in 5 shades and retail for only $10. You can use these with a wet eyeshadow brush for extreme pigment or a fan brush for a light dusting of color.

Truly, this has been a great purchase and I’m looking forward to the new products that I’m sure Alicia and team are working on. Let me know if you have tried anything from Range Beauty in the comments below and don’t forget to subscribe to the blog so you don’t miss a thing!
